Marble Transport Service

Marble is a rather fragile and heavy material that needs adequate packaging and adequate transport. PopularStone offers transport services through specialized shipping companies for marble, granite, onyx, stone, and quartzite in the form of tiles, slabs, blocks, or cut-to-sizes. Transportation of marble tiles (or those cut to sizes) is the simplest. The 10 mm tiles weigh approximately 28 kg x 1 sq m and are packed in polystyrene or cardboard boxes (approx. 5 tiles per box) and placed inside a large wooden crate measuring approximately 1100x1100xh900 mm (one crate contains all 30 m2 of marble tiles inside).

Transported with "A-frames"

Once loaded inside the truck with the forklift (or a similar vehicle), it will be delivered within about 10 days from loading, one day before you will be contacted for the delivery of your order. The material will be unloaded via tail lift and delivered (with a pallet truck) directly to your home. The transport of marble, granite, onyx, or quartzite slabs can be performed in two phases: Transported with "A-frames," the slabs are placed against each other and tied with ropes and chains (see photo).

Finally, the transport of marble blocks

Finally, the transport of marble blocks consists only of placing wooden planks on them and placing the marble blocks on them (maximum 28 tons). These will be delivered to the marble companies in Italy or to the nearest port (Venice or La Spezia) for subsequent sea shipment to the country where you are.
